Change of faces for Rams

- TONY CUNNINGHAM

WITH the Evo-Stik AGM due to take place on 17th June, confirmation of next season’s League line-up for Ramsbottom United is expected to be ratified to show that relegated Goole have been reprieved as a result of Ilkeston FC being wound up.

Ilkeston were due to take their place in Division One South following their relegation from the Premier Division, however, their demise has seen a late about-turn for Goole, who finished next to bottom in Division One North.

Taking Ilkeston’s place in Division One South is Frickley Athletic, who were due to play in the North following their relegation, but Goole will compete there instead.

Division One North welcomes two promoted teams in Atherton Collieries who won the North West Counties League, and South Shields, champions of the Northern League, who also claimed the FA Vase at Wembley last month. Also coming in are Skelmersdale United who were relegated from the Premier Division. Moving up are champs Lancaster City and Farsley Celtic.
