Raffle donations wanted to add extra fun to family event
FINAL preparations are being made ahead of a village’s carnival.
The Crawshawbooth Family Fun Day, which raises funds to help disadvantaged children, will be held on Sunday, July 9 – but organisers Kids in Rossendale are looking for last-minute donations to add to the event’s raffle and tombola prizes.
Paula Riley, who co-founded the charity with friend Louise Cooper, said: “The fun day is our biggest fundraising event of the year. We’ve got a fantastic day organised for everyone this year – now we just need a little extra help.
“The money we raise at the fun day helps to change the lives of children in Rossendale.
“It means children who might otherwise miss out can receive small grants to help cover the cost of things like Scout and Brownie trips, swimming lessons or sports equipment.”
The fun day will be held in the village on Sunday, July 9 from 11am to 5pm. There will be a climbing wall, archery, bungee run, penalty shootout, DJ and compere, barbecue, candyfloss and a cake stall.
