History alive for pupils
NEWCHURCH St Nicholas Primary School was visited by a company called Real History Alive.
They started the day with a school assembly on the theme ‘The Great Fire of London’.
The Year 2 children then took part in workshops and activities including a visit from the plague doctor and a ‘firefighting’ session where they had to create a human fire chain for passing along water to extinguish fires.
The children and teachers also dressed up in period costumes.
