Buttler believes Red Rose squad can push

CHRIS OSTICK JOS Buttler believes Lancashire have the squad to win the NatWest T20 Blast – and may even dance around in just his bath towel again if they do!

The England ace posted a video of himself dancing around his bedroom with just a towel to cover his modesty as he watched his Mumbai Indians side win the IPL earlier this year.

And now Buttler has his sights set on a unique double as he aims to help Lancashire to a second title in three years.

He made an unbeaten 42 off 37 balls yesterday as Lancashire saw off Derbyshire Falcons with nine balls and five wickets to spare at Emirates Old Trafford. Matthew Parkinson – making his T20 debut for the club and playing as one of five Lancashire spinners – impressed with 3-17 on the same wicket as was used against Yorkshire on Friday night, while Junaid Khan claimed 3-28 as Derbyshire made 151-8.

Lancashire made a fast start in reply, with Liam Livingston­e and Karl Brown putting on 48 in the first 4.5 overs before a clatter of wickets left them at 72-4 in the ninth.

However, Buttler shared steady partnershi­ps with first Dane Vilas (20) and then Ryan McLaren, who scored an unbeaten 24 from 16 balls, to see Lancashire safely home.

And Buttler, who was part of the side that won the Trophy in 2015, believes the Red Rose squad is strong enough to repeat the feat.
