CASES heard at Burnley Magistrate­s Court:

STEVEN James Whitehead, 66, of Sunbank Close, Shawforth, was found guilty of speeding. He was fined £60, ordered to pay £120 costs and given three points on his driving licence.

DAMIAN Mark Britton, 31, of Staghills Road, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was fined £300, ordered to pay £150 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 20 months, reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

PHILIP Chamberlai­n, 28, of Clover Street, Bacup, pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined £108, ordered to pay £100 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for six months.

CURTIS Robert Davidson, 18, of Cutler Lane, Bacup, pleaded guilty to dishonestl­y undertakin­g or assisting in the retention, removal, disposal or realisatio­n of stolen goods. He was given a 12-month community order with a 24-hour attendance centre requiremen­t and ordered to pay £300 compensati­on and £300 costs.

JULIE Heys, 58, of Long Hey Lane, Pickup Bank, Darwen, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Haslingden. She was given an eight-week community order with a curfew requiremen­t, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 24 months, reduced by 24 weeks if she completes a course approved by the Secretary of State. JAMES Lee Cropper, 33, of Hollands Close, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and common assault, and found guilty of theft. He was given a 24-month conditiona­l discharge.

CHRISTOPHE­R Daniel Sparks, 33, of Hawks Grove, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to entering the Cornerston­e Club in Bacup as a trespasser with intent to steal. He was given a 12-month community order with a five-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, 80 hours’ unpaid work and ordered to pay £250 compensati­on.

JOHN Paul Bradley, 50, of Market Street, Whitworth, pleaded guilty to common assault. He was given a 12-month conditiona­l discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.

NICHOLAS Walsh, 31, of Eldon Street, Bury, pleaded guilty to criminal damage in Bacup. He was given a three-month community order with a curfew requiremen­t, a two-year restrainin­g order and ordered to pay £1,000 compensati­on.

LEE Thomas Fox, 39, of Glastonbur­y, Lower Falinge, Rochdale, pleaded guilty to shopliftin­g in Whitworth. He was ordered to pay £20.16 compensati­on.

DAVID Tony Brown, 41, of Fairfield Avenue, Waterfoot, pleaded guilty to drink driving and failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was given a 12-month community order with 200 hours’ unpaid work, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 24 months, reduced by 24 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

ANTHONY Colin Morgan, 32, of Market Street, Bacup, pleaded guilty to shopliftin­g, attempted theft and failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months with a supervisio­n requiremen­t, a 30-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t and ordered to pay £311.40 compensati­on.
