opening four batsmen hit decent scores, most notably Kieren Grimshaw (47 not out) and professional Michael Erlank.

That left Accrington 111-3 at one stage, but a collapse soon followed as the next six batsmen could make just 20 runs between them, with three of them dismissed for ducks.

It meant that Accring- ton’s innings came to an end with the team on 162-8 at the end of their 50 overs.

Professional Zain Abbas was the pick of the bowlers for Church, finishing with figures of 4-33, while Hassan Fazal also chipped in with 3-36.

It seemed like a reachable target for Church, but their task was made extremely difficult when only three of their batsmen reached double figures.

Jack Gaskill (22), Zain Abbas (21) and Bilal Abbas (19 not out) were those men, but the remaining eight batsmen made just nine runs in total, meaning Church were bowled all out for just 82 after 30 overs.

Erlank took figures of 4-27 for his side, while James Hayhurst (3-12) and Jake Clarke (2-24) also took multiple wickets to help Accrington earn an emphatic win.

Rishton had a sevenwicket triumph against Colne at the Horsfield.

Colne batted first, but good bowling from Rishton meant that they finished 125 all out after 43 overs. Professional Shaun von Berg impressed with the ball by taking 4-44 for Rishton, and his teammates Bradley Boddie (2-6) and Kelly Mall (2-32) also took a couple of wickets each.

Rishton comfortably reached their target, mainly thanks to von Berg who finished unbeaten on 73, with Boddie also chipping in with 27 to help their team reach their target after 31 overs.
