Firms called to outline vision for centre

BUSINESSES are being invited to set out their vision for Rawtenstal­l town centre at a special meeting.

Rawtenstal­l Chamber of Commerce is hosting a meeting on Thursday, September 7 at 6.30pm at Rawtenstal­l Cricket Club which will be attended by representa­tives of Rossendale council, Day Architectu­ral and Barnfield Constructi­on.

Members are invited to outline their vision for the town. Chamber President David Gould said: “It’s an unpreceden­ted opportunit­y for the ●● The police station has now been demolished as part of the Spinning Point Rawtenstal­l town centre developmen­t business community in the heart of the current town centre to have some input in the design of the future town centre. It is, in effect, an opportunit­y to fill in a blank canvas of, not just what traders want to see in Rawtenstal­l, but where they feel it would be best located.”

Rawtenstal­l Chamber of Commerce currently has close to 100 businesses who are members of the organisati­on.

Mr Gould added: “The decisions that are about to be made are so pivotal to the future of Rawtenstal­l town centre that I really feel it’s imperative that all members should attend in person.” The police station and Town Hall extension have so far been demolished as part of the multi-million pound redevelopm­ent of the town centre, known as the ‘Spinning Point Project’.
