Firms called to outline vision for centre
BUSINESSES are being invited to set out their vision for Rawtenstall town centre at a special meeting.
Rawtenstall Chamber of Commerce is hosting a meeting on Thursday, September 7 at 6.30pm at Rawtenstall Cricket Club which will be attended by representatives of Rossendale council, Day Architectural and Barnfield Construction.
Members are invited to outline their vision for the town. Chamber President David Gould said: “It’s an unprecedented opportunity for the ●● The police station has now been demolished as part of the Spinning Point Rawtenstall town centre development business community in the heart of the current town centre to have some input in the design of the future town centre. It is, in effect, an opportunity to fill in a blank canvas of, not just what traders want to see in Rawtenstall, but where they feel it would be best located.”
Rawtenstall Chamber of Commerce currently has close to 100 businesses who are members of the organisation.
Mr Gould added: “The decisions that are about to be made are so pivotal to the future of Rawtenstall town centre that I really feel it’s imperative that all members should attend in person.” The police station and Town Hall extension have so far been demolished as part of the multi-million pound redevelopment of the town centre, known as the ‘Spinning Point Project’.
