CASES heard at Burnley Magistrate­s Court:

RYAN Joseph Patrick Warwick, 33, of New Line, Bacup, was found guilty of assault by beating. He was given a 12-month community order with a restrainin­g order, fined £60 and ordered to pay £100 compensati­on.

ALAN Cliffe, 70, of West View, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident and using a car without insurance. He was fined £80, ordered to pay £200 compensati­on and given six points on his driving licence.

IAN Cole, 56, of Mercer Crescent, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined £70 and given three points on his driving licence.

PETER Jon Hardman, 28, of New Line, Bacup, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was fined £100, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 12 months, reduced by 13 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

MARC Craig Thripp, 32, of Lee Road, Stackstead­s, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was given a four-week community order with a curfew requiremen­t, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 23 months, reduced by 23 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State. CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrate­s Court:

OWEN Andrew David Lord, 18, of Schofield Road, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft and fraud by false representa­tion. He was given a 12-month community order with a 30-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, fined £20 and ordered to pay £95 compensati­on and £85 costs.

ANDREW Paul Staples, 40, of Newchurch Road, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to three counts of shopliftin­g while subject to a suspended prison sentence order. He was jailed for 26 weeks and ordered to pay £210 compensati­on.

MARK Andrew Walker, 31, of Market Street, Whitworth, pleaded guilty to two counts of dishonestl­y making off without paying for fuel and one count of failing to comply with the requiremen­ts of a community order. He was fined £160, ordered to pay £81.09 compensati­on and £85 costs, and his community order was varied to include an extra 10 hours unpaid work.

MICHAEL John Burns, 45, of Castlefiel­d Close, Liverpool, pleaded guilty to breaching a restrainin­g order in Rossendale. He was given a 10-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a 10-week curfew requiremen­t, a 40-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, a two-year restrainin­g order and ordered to pay £85 costs.

IMTIAZ Adam, 44, of Regents View, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to speeding on Grane Road in Haslingden. He was fined £150, ordered to pay £85 costs and given three points on his driving licence.

PETER Andrew O’Connor, 36, of Fairview Crescent, Bacup, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a supervisio­n requiremen­t, a six-month alcohol treatment requiremen­t, a 30-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, a 12-month restrainin­g order, and ordered to pay £200 compensati­on and £85 costs.

PHILIP John Dixon, 55, of Rawsthorne Avenue, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a 12-month community order with a 20-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, 50 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 costs.

JAN Loewe, 50, of Burnley Road, Bacup, pleaded guilty to three counts of drug driving and one count each of failing to stop after an accident and driving without reasonable considerat­ion for other persons using that road. He was jailed for 12 weeks and disqualifi­ed from driving for three years.
