BURGLARS use Remembrance stone to smash into veterans charity. VIC in Haslingden are “disgusted” after charity boxes were ransacked by thieves (website November 17)

Christine Mcgown: Is there anyone doing a collection for this so the money can be raised and the veterans still get their Christmas meal? I would gladly give a little something towards it. Elizabeth McGown: That’s about as low as you can go. Would happily donate to this.

Carole Lord: Yep! I’m starting a collection.. I’m

getting the ball rolling by donating a full days wage and putting it in a pot, I’m absolutely disgusted! They will have back what’s been pinched, don’t worry.

Trish Fitzpatrick: Can a Just Giving page be set up so the veterans don’t lose out? The burglars need some street justice!

Christine Mcgown: I agree. I also asked about this. I’m sure plenty of people would give something towards it.

Christine Mcgown: I would also happily stand outside a supermarket and rattle a collection tin for them. It is just really sad that someone would do this. X Sandra Griffiths: Count me in! Low lifes! Stuart Harmer-Meakin: They should post the CCTV footage as well! Lyndsey Wicks: Absolutely heartbreaking, these thieves terrorising our town have to be stopped. They are beyond belief using the memorial stone to break in and steal our veterans’ money. Justice needs to be served - somebody must know who these scumbags are.

Shell Lloyd: This maddens me so much. Andy Schofield: Something needs doing to sort them. They’re obviously not bothered about the police!

Pete Costello: There aren’t any police that’s why they are so brazen about it. Dave Terry: Got to be caught. Mat Mathews: That’s pretty low.
