CASES heard at Burnley Magistrate­s Court:

STEPHEN Michael Ashworth, 21, of Brockcloug­h Road, Whitewell Bottom, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident to police. He was fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs and given seven points on his driving licence.

BEN Whitehead, 21, of Dale Street, Bacup, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £200 compensati­on.

STUART David Halstead, 33, of Fallbarn Crescent, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was fined £250, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 16 months, reduced by 16 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

KAYLEIGH Louise Vickers, 23, of Staghills Road, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to shopliftin­g. She was given a six-month conditiona­l discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.

ROLAND Rudzitis, 50, of Bacup Road, Cloughfold, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis as part of an investigat­ion. He was given an eight-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months with a supervisio­n requiremen­t, a 35-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for three years.

JOHN Derek Dyment, 31, of Pendle Close, Bacup, pleaded guilty to using threatenin­g or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. He was given a 12-month conditiona­l discharge and ordered to pay £150 costs.

JOHN Allpress, 50, of Union Street, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a 36-month conditiona­l discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs.

STEFAN Anton Kurpil, 58, of Bacup Road, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined £145, ordered to pay £85 costs and given three points on his driving licence. CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrate­s Court:

JOHN Anthony Sparks, 39, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal damage in Bacup and one count of using threatenin­g or abusive words or behaviour and failing to comply with supervisio­n requiremen­ts imposed following his release from prison. He was given a 12-month community order with a 12-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, 60 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £820 compensati­on.

JESSICA Beesley, 35, of Goodshaw Avenue, Crawshawbo­oth, pleaded guilty to using a television without a licence. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

DARREN Alfred Atkin, 38, of Edgeside Lane, Waterfoot, pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching a nonmolesta­tion order and two counts of breaching a restrainin­g order. He was jailed for 16 weeks.

PHILIP Andrew Jubb, 61, of Victoria Street, Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Rising Bridge. He was fined £180, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 18 months, reduced by 18 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
