“I came in with my eyes shut in a lot of ways and I had to fight to keep this club alive. I’m not a quitter and I’ve done my best over the years.

The event to celebrate Peters’ time at Bacup is set to be held at the Brian Boys West View Stadium on FA Cup Final day, featuring plenty of faces from the club’s past.

The club hope to have as many in attendance as possible, and also have them taking part in several short games against each other on the pitch.

Some of the proceeds from the event will also go to Rossendale Hospice and The Sophie Lancaster Foundation. More information can be found on the Borough website.
