Borough boys put eight past Blackburn

- MARK CHALONER

start the BACUP season to the made with final an a stage excellent of crushing victory over a strong Blackburn side.

Adam Stenton playing in goal did well with the little he had to do and in front of him the defence of Kieran Reece, Jordan Walker and Oliver Crew were strong and were well protected by the midfield in front of them marshalled by Tom Chaloner who played well sitting in front of them.

The scoring was started when Crew played a cross field pass to Sajidul Haque making his debut for Bacup who held the ball up well before laying it off to Kyle Brookes who finished well with a first time shot into the corner.

the Brookes second was goal involved when he in has involved in some smart one touch passing moves with Ryan Lewis, Lewis again finished well with a low shot into the corner.

The scoring continued in the second half when Brookes made a strong tackle before setting Louis Holding free and his pass found the other debutant Amin Uddin and he tucked it away to make it 3-0.

Sajidul Haque was again the provider when his good work down the right resulted in a cross to Holding who scored his first of the game.

Kyle Brookes and Louis Holding then combined to make it 5-0 with Holding getting his second of the game.

The Blackburn keeper, who had previously made two good saves to keep the score down, then made a mistake in taking too long on the ball and Holding nipped in to take the ball off him before crossing for Sam Green to make it six. Harrison Leech then played a fine pass into the path of Brennan Boys who finished very coolly with a chip over the advancing keeper. With Blackburn now well beaten Bacup were awarded a corner that was quickly taken by Lewis who passed it to Holding, he made his way along the by line before completing his hat-trick with a shot from a very tight angle.
