Scoring start for new boy Jarrett
BACUP Borough manager Brent Peters has swooped to sign former Leicester City and Wigan Athletic striker Jason Jarrett.
Jarrett made an immediate impact for the club, as he scored two goals on his debut against Chadderton on Tuesday, although Bacup still lost the game 5-4.
With 18 games to play, Peters hopes the addition of Jarrett will help his young squad, with Jarrett having played over 300 Football League games in his career.
He was also instrumental in helping Salford City gain promotion to the National League North.
Peters said: “I am absolutely delighted with the signing of Jason, securing his signature has not been easy especially given the fact he had received offers from some clubs participating higher up the football pyramid. Jason is a terrific lad and very much an experienced footballer who will help my young squad immensely.
“Captain Adrian Bellamy and vicecaptain Matthew Bryan who are the seniors, have worked really hard with the boys passing on their experience and knowledge, and now with the addition of Jason this can only be exceptional value not only to the entire squad but the rest of our youth structure.”
