-

JORDAN Clark hit a century as Lancashire began their pre-season tour to Dubai with a thumping win over the UAE Blues.

The all-rounder smashed seven sixes and 10 fours as he made an unbeaten 117 off just 58 balls to help the Red Rose to a 225-run victory in the 50-over game.

There were plenty of runs for all the Lancashire top order as they posted a mammoth 395-4.

Steven Croft upped the run rate with a blistering 95 off just 56 deliveries, while Hameed - who was captaining the side with Liam Livingstone in New Zealand with England – retired on 85 as Lancs looked to give players time out in the middle.

UAE Blues were soon under pressure in their reply, with Toby Lester claiming both openers Fahad Nawaz and Hyder Shah cheaply. He finished with 3-40, while Danny Lamb proved to be the pick of the bowlers with 3-19 from his seven overs as the hosts were restricted to 170-9 from their 40 overs.

“It’s nice to see all the practice that you put in over the winter come together,” said Clark.

“You can’t beat practice out in the middle.” ●● Lancashire Girls under 14s players Beth MacDonald, Lucy Valentine and Abby Clarke
