CASES heard at Burnley Magistrate­s:

BRIAN Duckworth, 58, of Alma Street, Bacup, pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined £80, ordered to pay £85 costs and given four points on his driving licence.

REBECCA Mullins, 31, of Pennine Road, Bacup, was found guilty in her absence of two counts of being the parent of a child of compulsory school age who failed to attend school regularly. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs.

STEPHEN Kyme, 26, of Fairfield Avenue, Waterfoot, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the requiremen­ts of a community order. He was given a new 12-month community order with 60 hours unpaid work. CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrate­s:

DANIEL David Brooke, 34, of East Bank, Water, pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting a police officer in the execution of their duty. He was given a 12-month community order with 60 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £100 compensati­on and £85 costs.

RICHARD Charles Evans, 43, of Rochdale Road, Bacup, pleaded guilty to two counts of shopliftin­g while subject to a conditiona­l discharge order. He was given a 12-month community order with a six-month alcohol treatment requiremen­t, a 10-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t and also ordered to pay £253 compensati­on.

RODNEY Mark Wallace, 46, of Douglas Road, Bacup, pleaded guilty to breaching the peace and resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty. He was bound over in the sum of £300 for 12 months to keep the peace, fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

KIMBERLEY Mary Joanne Harness, 28, of Crabtree Avenue, Waterfoot, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place while subject to a conditiona­l discharge order. She was given a new 12-month conditiona­l discharge.

CARL Taylor, 26, of Acre Street, Whitworth, pleaded guilty to failing to stop while driving when required to do so by police, dangerous driving, using a car without insurance, a driving licence and an MOT certificat­e and possessing cannabis. He was given a 20-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months, with a six-week curfew requiremen­t, a 20-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 16 months.
