MRS Winifred Entwistle, of Cherry Tree Lodge care home, died on Sunday, April 29, aged 95.

Winnie, as she was known, worked as a baker and shoe operative and retired from Greenbridg­e, Lambert Howarths, Rawtenstal­l.

She liked spending time with family, doing crosswords, bingo, baking, knitting and holidays. She enjoyed going on day trips with her late husband.

Winnie was a member of Lumb Baptist Church, the over 50s group at Whitewell Bottom Community Centre and was involved in the Millenium Green project.

Wife of late husband Hughie and mother of the late Frank, she leaves daughter Valerie, brother Brian and wife Eileen, granddaugh­ters Lyndsey, Sharon, Natalie and Elizabeth, five greatgrand­children and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will take place on Thursday, May 10 at Lumb Baptist with a service at 10.15am followed by a cremation at Burnley Crematoriu­m at 11.20am. Flowers welcome.

MRS Marie Cutting, formerly of Ash Terrace, Bacup, died on Tuesday, May 24 surrounded by her beloved family at Cherry Tree Lodge, aged 83.

Marie was born in Bacup and lived her entire life there.
