Fielding’s five inspires Rams

RA M S B O T TOM picked up a four wicket win over Todmorden at Acre Bottom.

Todmorden won the toss and decided to bat first, but Ramsbottom’s bowling was impressive as they restricted their opponents to just 139-8 from their 50 overs, with Jon Fielding the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5-38.

Ramsbottom were able to chase down the target with four wickets and six overs to spare, with JJ Fielding top scoring for the side with 59, helping them clinch the win.

RAWTENSTAL­L picked up an impressive win away from home as they defeated Milnrow by 64 runs at Ladyhouse.

Rawtenstal­l batted first, and it looked like they may be in for a difficult afternoon as they could only manage a score of 106.

It didn’t matter in the end, as the bowlers performed extremely well to bowl Milnrow all out for just 42, with Adil Hussain finishing with figures of 5-10.

BACUP came up short as they were beaten by six wickets against Crompton at Lanehead.

Bacup won the toss and decided to bat, but they massively struggled, with only opener Tim Farragher managing to make double figures as the team were bowled all out for just 60.

Despite losing four wickets in their response, Crompton eased to the total, finishing on 61-4 after just 16 overs.

HASLINGDEN also suffered a defeat in their match as they were beaten by eight wickets against Walsden at Scott Street.

Haslingden won the toss and decided to bat, and it looked like they had reached a decent score when they ended on 201-8 at the end of their 50 overs, with profession­al Kamran Ghulam top scoring on 62.

Walsden performed well during their own innings though, as opener Jake Hooson top scored with an unbeaten 70, as the team reached the target with eight overs to spare and eight wickets in hand.

ACCRINGTON came out on top in their game against local rivals ENFIELD as they won by 38 runs at Dill Hall Lane.

Accrington won the toss and decided to pat, and had Kieran Grimshaw to thank as he finished unbeaten on 124 from 123 balls as the team reached 226-5 at the end of their 50 overs.

Enfield got off to a good start in response with Jack Cook top scoring on 41, but a collapse saw them go from 112-4 to 188 all out, handing Accrington the win. Ross Brown had the best figures for Accrington as he finished with 3-34.

CHURCH also gained bragging rights against a local rival after they won by seven wickets against RISHTON at Blackburn Road.

Rishton were put into bat first after Church won the toss, and it looked like a smart decision from the visitors as they were able to bowl Rishton all out for 103, with just three batsmen able to reach double figures.

Johnny Riekert was the pick of the bowlers for Church as he took impressive figures of 5-36 during his 14 overs.

Church eased to their target in response, with Sam Holt passing his half century as he helped the team end on 106-3 after just 18 overs, earning them the win and condemning Rishton to defeat.

GREAT HARWOOD also picked up a victory as they defeated East Lancashire by seven wickets at Alexandra Meadows.

East Lancs were put into bat first, and were bowled all out for 173. Great Harwood reached the target with three balls to spare.
