Buyer sought as home enters administra­tion

STEFAN JAJECNYK RESIDENTS and their relatives at a Valley care home are facing uncertaint­y after the company that owns it went into administra­tion.

Haslingden Hall and Lodge Care Home on Lancaster Avenue in Haslingden, which is owned by Orchard Care Homes.com, has gone into administra­tion following ‘difficult’ trading conditions.

The care home currently houses 69 elderly residents, some of whom receive specialist dementia care.

The home will remain open during the administra­tion period and all staff will continue working at the home.

A specialist care management company, Lucina Care, have been appointed by ●● Haslingden Hall and Lodge Care Home administra­tors to run the home on a day-to-day basis while they find a buyer for the business as an ongoing concern.

The joint administra­tors, Kerry Bailey and Sarah Rayment, say they and Lucina Care will work closely with Rossendale Council and the Care Quality Commission.

They have also said they will be communicat­ing regularly with residents and their families.

Sarah Raynment, business restructur­ing partner from BDO, said: “Unfortunat­ely, difficult trading conditions significan­tly affected the business.

“However, we are confident of securing a going concern sale and safeguardi­ng the longterm future of Haslingden Hall and Lodge for its residents.

“The home will continue to operate whilst this is explored, and our primary focus is to ensure the maintenanc­e of high quality care to residents.

“We will continue to work closely with all parties, including specialist care management company Lucina Care Limited, to ensure residents experience no interrupti­on to their care services.”
