Derby day clash as Bacup face Rawtenstal­l

SHELDAN KEAY THE Lancashire League enters the penultimat­e week of the season, with all of the local sides in action on Saturday.

There is a local derby between BACUP and RAWTENSTAL­L, with the two teams going up against each other at Lanehead.

Bacup are in 18th place in the table after five wins from their 21 matches this season, while Rawtenstal­l are in 22nd place.

Bacup could move up to 16th if they are victorious and other results go their way, while Rawtenstal­l can leapfrog Bacup, along with two other sides, if they can come out on top.

RAMSBOTTOM will try to keep up the pressure near the top of the table as they welcome Middleton to Acre Bottom.

Ramsbottom are in third place after 17 wins from their 21 games, but could move into second if they are triumphant against 16th placed Middleton.

HASLINGDEN have an away game as they make the trip to Woodhouse Lane to face off with Norden.

Haslingden are in 15th position in the table after seven wins, nine defeats and five no results so far this season. Norden are in sixth place with 11 wins from their 21 games.

Elsewhere, Rochdale have a home game as they host Burnley at Redbrook.

Rochdale are in 12th position after nine wins during the campaign, with this weekend’s opponents Burnley in ninth place.

Milnrow are also at home, going up against Nelson at Ladyhouse. Milnrow have found things tough this season and are bottom of the table with just two wins from their 21 matches.
