Tough for Tornadoes

-

HASLINGDEN Under 10 Tornadoes’ first away game of the season was always going to be a tough test against Bolton Wanderers.

The girls were in dreamland within a few minutes when Olivia Guest’s clinical finish gave the keeper no chance.

Bolton’s quality shone though and they capitalised on some good counter attacking.

Hassy girls showed tremendous discipline and the newer players, many playing for the first time for the club, were fantastic and battled through against some very good players.

Hassy’s more experienced players really showed their talent and kept driving forward.

Annie Richmond deservedly scored with a composed finish and Holly Thomas’ determination from a set piece produced a deserved goal.

Bolton were very clinical and their finishing was top class, but on another day Hassy could have scored a lot more goals.

Overall the game was very positive for Hassy because the players learned a lot from the game and there is a tremendous amount of potential to build on.

Congratulations to all the players and especially players of the day Olivia who put in a lot of work and Annie who was very brave playing on after sustaining a painful injury in winning the ball from the opposition.

The Under 11 Hawks took on Accrington and picked up their third win from three games so far while the under 15s produced an outstanding result against Burnley, winning 11-1.

The Under 12s took on Langho in their first home game of the season hoping to earn their first points of the campaign.

After a goalless first half, a hat-trick from Alannah Pollard earned Haslingden a 3-2 victory.
