Walking football club’s new venture

-

STEPHEN FELINSKI HASLINGDEN Girls and Ladies FC have always looked for ways to grow and improve, their aim has always been to raise the profile of girls and women’s football in the Rossendale area and increasing participation in the sport.

The introduction of a free Saturday Soccer Club in 2016 was aimed at girls aged from 5 to 11, who maybe wanted to try football for the first time without any financial commitment.

This has proven to be a great success and the club has steadily grown until it now has eleven teams from Under 8s all the way through to open age.

The club’s latest venture is the introduction of ladies’ walking football sessions.

There is little awareness of the sport in the general public but walking football is a rapidly growing activity in the UK and is an excellent way of staying fit and healthy, socializing – but the main focus is on having fun.

There are very few women-only sessions but Haslingden Girls and Ladies FC is running sessions every Monday evening from 7pm to 8pm at the Adrenaline Centre in Haslingden and it is currently FREE.

The response to date has been very good with lots of ladies trying football for the first time and loving it.

Anyone interested can just turn up or call 07801 397845 for further details.

So why not give it a try, you have nothing to lose.
