MR Charles Barry Greenwood, of the Commercial Hotel, Haslingden, died on Monday, February 4, at Royal Blackburn, aged 71.

One of 10 children, Barry, as he was known, leaves his wife Carol, sons Charlie and Harry, brothers and sisters and their families.

Barry came to Rossendale in the 1980s and was proprietor of Rossendale Engineerin­g Coating Rochdale for many years.

He enjoyed going to sportsman’s dinners, and was an avid supporter of Salford Reds and St Helens Rugby League teams as well as Manchester United.

The funeral was due to take place on Thursday, February 14, with service and cremation at Accrington Crematoriu­m at 2.20pm.

Funeral director: Josephine Durning for Johnson, Durning and Woods Funeral Service, Haslingden.

She worked at JA Dennon’s until her retirement.

Dorothy enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and attending St Peter’s Church. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family.

Her funeral will take place at 10am on Friday, February 15 with a service at St Peter’s Laneside led by Rev Stephen Brown, followed by cremation at Accrington Crematoriu­m. BETTY Miller, of Burnley Road East, Whitewell Bottom, died at home on Tuesday, February 5, aged 88.

Betty worked at a quilting company as a machinist at Waterfoot before becoming a housewife, bringing up her three sons.

In her spare time she enjoyed knitting as well as arts and crafts and writing poems.

Betty leaves her three sons Gary, Lance and Craig, six grandchild­ren, four great-grandchild­ren and her sister June.

The funeral service, conducted by Rev Richard Booth, took place on Wednesday, February 13, at Lumb Baptist Church, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematoriu­m.

Donations accepted for Alzheimer’s Research. MR Ronnie Collinge died peacefully at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Friday, February 8, aged 83.

He worked as an HGV driver for many years at Duralay (Interfloor) on Broadway, Haslingden until his retirement in 1999.

Ronnie was a keen cricketer and latterly a crown green bowler. He was also a keen gardener who tended the Trinity Baptist garden with enthusiasm and worshipped there regularly for many years.

He was the beloved husband of Muriel, a devoted dad to Yvonne and Denise, father-in-law to Mick and the late Damien, grandad to Richard, Andrea, Claire, Michelle, Victoria and Phillip, great-grandad to Hadley, Ruby, Lewis, Emily, Elsie, Henry, Layla and Declan, and uncle to PAT Standen (formerly Wolstenhol­me and Simpson) died peacefully at Royal Blackburn Hospital on Sunday, February 10.

Affectiona­tely known as ‘Mrs Pat’ she taught many children over her career as reception teacher at Edenfield County Primary School followed by her time at Waterfoot Primary School.

She will be greatly missed by her family: daughters Sarah and Kate, grandchild­ren Ben and Poppy, Ryan and his wife Beth, sons-in-law Billy and Chris, greatgrand­children Joshua and Alexander, brother Pete and wife Janet, niece Lou and children Chrissie and Tommy, Nicola, Abbey and Rob, and her lifelong

She was a true Socialist and her values and beliefs were very important to her; she lived her life by them and, through this, helped make the lives of many others better.

In addition to her teaching career she provided education to young people who were offending or in need, she worked as a volunteer at both Bolton and Lancashire Youth Offending Teams, she started and ran a women’s gardening group, she was a key founder of Dale View Allotments in Rawtenstal­l and had many other achievemen­ts.

Pat’s funeral is on Thursday, February 21 at 10.20am, at Accrington Crematoriu­m.

Family flowers only MR Paul Joseph Edwards, of Inkerman Street, Bacup died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Thursday, February 7, aged 72.

A service followed by cremation will be held at Burnley Crematoriu­m on Monday, February 18 at 11.20am conducted by Fr. Chris McGrane.

Born in Stockport, he grew up in Middleton, before moving to Bacup in 1991. He attended St Gregory’s Technical High School in Ardwick Green.

After a career in marketing and advertisin­g he became a lecturer in marketing at Stockport College.

He leaves friend Deirdre Connor whom he met in 1990 prior to moving to Bacup, and also his good friend Paddy Moran, from Bacup.
