East Lancs were bowled out for 77 in 31.5 overs.

Joe Hayton was the pick of the Haslingden bowlers taking an excellent 5 for 10 in 6.5 overs. Tom Horrocks took 2 for 17 in seven overs and Ian Cameron took 2 for 18 in his nine overs.

Haslingden made hard work of their reply but Leon Brennan with 23 not out saw Haslingden home in 23.5 overs to win by 5 wickets.

Matthew Sudworth with 10 and Jeff Stanton with a steady 14 were the other batsmen to reach double figures. Twelve points to Haslingden who remain top of the table and one point to East Lancs. ●● A group of junior coaches and supporters from Haslingden Cricket Club are taking on a unique biking challenge today (Friday).

They will be setting off from Lord’s Cricket Ground in London and riding the 224 miles north back to Haslingden Cricket Club.

They are travelling over three days and will arrive back at Bentgate on Sunday 28th July during the late afternoon to be welcomed by a cricket match being played between an HCC Legends Team v The Ramsbottom Traders.

All funds raised will go towards improving provision and facilities at the club.

They are also planning to support the local community and make a donation to Rossendale Hospice.

The Riders are: Steven Abraham, Graeme Clarke, Crystal Clayton, George Farrell, Andy Horrocks, Paul Mercer, Deborah Scott, Jeff Stanton and Dave Strachan.

Club Chairman Andrew Lord and Treasurer Mark Parsons will be manning the support vehicle.
