OWNERS of seven dogs brand new control orders ‘woof justice’ (July 26):

Ernest Russell: I am a dog owner of too many years to mention, but I agree with the restrictions on the number of dogs. I have met several people who walk multiple dogs and I have to say the majority of the dogs being walked are not the best behaved. It frightens a lot of people! As much as I love my dog(s) you have to be aware of other people

Joseph Dempsey: I can’t wait to see how this is going to be enforced. The

truth is RBC don’t have anywhere close to enough staff to police this.

Cliff Swallow: When are we going to have rules about kids in numbers on our streets. I feel safer with dogs in Bacup Angela Schofield: Reading these comments I would say the biggest problem by far is not the amount of dogs walked as the not picking up of dog poo. Every dog be it alone or walked with others needs to poo so the problem lies with the human not picking up.

David Evans: “It’s a shame we will be penalised and not be able to walk them all at once.” There are 2 people walking 7 dogs; when I did ‘O’ level maths that equated to 3.5 dogs each so no problem and as the lady owns 5 she can walk those with impunity. What’s the problem? Keeley Fenn: Is this 5 dogs per person or in a group? If I took 3 and met my friend that has 4 is that allowed? Kathryn Nolan: Good to know that RBC have their priorites in order! What a waste of time and resources. Karen King: I’m sure this bloke walks his dogs in Stubbylee occasionally. He always has them on leads and they are well behaved...he has them under control...at least the couple walk them..not leaving them cooped up in a cage...pathetic. Michaela Howard Holt: Shame all these comments weren’t put forward to RBC consultation with the public. According to them, the overall response was overwhelmingly in favour.

Syed Hassan: I think 5 dogs is enough at any one time. The council had it correct Suzanne Kay: I do think some people who train their dogs well are OK but I do see these dog walking companies walking loads of dogs that don’t really know each other too well. It doesn’t take much to

startle one dog and that dog turn on another.

Keith Trickett: I would think if there was 2 people you could walk 10 dogs Alan Entwistle: A person states he walks 7 dogs unleashed. Must be a big job collecting the droppings this should never be allowed. 5 dogs rule is enough. Dog minders should walk them in shifts Melanie Gibson: Police state. Wait for it there will be a dog walk tax

Scotty Talbot: As long as you’re a responsible owner I don’t see a problem with taking as many dogs as you want out

Andrew Harrison: Walk as many as you like

Sheila Hammond: My husband used to walk 13, he said if they are kept under control they shouldn’t be limited

Spesh Moon: What’s the limit for one person walking kids round town centres?
