Her hobbies included knitting and sewing, and she was a member of the Mother’s Union at St Peter, Laneside, where she was a regular attendee at church.

The funeral will take place at Accrington Crematoriu­m on Friday, October 4 at 2.20pm with a service led by the Rev’d Stephen Brown.

Her funeral will take place at 10.30am at St James’ Parish Church, Haslingden on Friday, October 4 with a service led by Fr David Stephenson, followed by cremation at Accrington Crematoriu­m.

JEAN ELWELL

MRS Jean Elwell nee Testa passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, September 4.

Jean leaves her sister Irene and husband Charles, her sons Anthony and David, her stepson Craig and his wife Caroline, her grandchild­ren Mark, Alex, Cameron and William along with many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful teams, Haslingden District Nurses, Rossendale Hospice and their carers and the Macmillan care team who all cared for Jean and who gave their support to Irene and Charles who all made it possible for Jean to have her wish to ‘just be at home’.

The funeral was held on Thursday, September 12, from the Chapel of Rest, Burnley Road East, Waterfoot followed by cremation at Burnley.

Donations requested to The British Heart Foundation.
