MRS Margaret Balshaw, of Walker Barn Farm, Bacup, died on Monday, September 16, at The Laurels Care Home, aged 92.

Margaret farmed all her married life with her late husband Arthur.

They had a milk delivery round in Bacup for several years.

Her family life was very important to her.

She enjoyed baking, jam making, puzzles, picnics and days out in the Yorkshire Dales.

Wife of the late Arthur, she leaves daughters Ann and June, sons-in-law Bill and Bernard, grandchild­ren Beverley, Russell, Wayne and Carl, daughters-in-law Rachel, Stacey and Alison, 10 great-grandchild­ren, sister-in-law Phyllis and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service conducted by the Revd David Brae took place at Christ Church, Bacup, on Wednesday, September 25, followed by burial at Bacup Cemetery

Donations have been requested for North West Air Ambulance.

MRS Hilda Hayes died at Royal Blackburn Hospital on Tuesday, September 17, aged 96.

Wife of the late George, who died in 1983, she was mother of Susan and Gillian.

Myrtle, wife of the late Derek, leaves son Neil and daughter Susan, daughterin-law Christine and son-in-law David, grandchild­ren Damien, Jonny and Ian and great-grandchild­ren Connor, Reece and Layla.

Myrtle had worked at the Coop for many years until she was made redundant.

After that she retired from working. MARGARET May Higson, of Hambledon House, Haslingden, died at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Sunday, September 22, aged 98.

Margaret, wife of the late Earnest, had lived in Haslingden all her life, and worked in the local cotton mills as a weaver.
