Rams reunion day down at Riverside
IT’S reunion day on Saturday 29th February, as Ramsbottom United welcome back a host of former players and managers to the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium.
Organised by former players, committee man Chris Standring and main club sponsor Phil Rose of Rosebridge, around eighty former members of the Rams teams over the years are expected to be present as the home team look to keep their promotion push on track against Kendal Town.
The ex-players will be entertained in the Frank Rothwell Hospitality Suite where they will watch the match, and the day will continue into the evening at the neighbouring cricket club.
Many names will be familiar to the Rammy supporters, including those with long memories!
Managers from back in the 1980s and 90s, when the club played initially in the Bolton Combination then the Manchester League, expected to be there will include Martin Farnworth, Phil Rainford and Dave Oldfield, whilst many of the players from that era will be catching up on a day when nostalgia will be out in force.
Many other faces will be familiar, and the hope is that members of the current Rammy first team along with a number of the development squad will join the proceedings after the match as the day moves on to the cricket club.
There they will be joined by a number of committee men and supporters as the night includes a meal, a comedian Tony Roscoe and a Guest speaker in former Wales International Dean Saunders.
There are just a handful of tickets left, and anyone interesting in attending what should be a fascinating night can contact Chris Standring on cstandring66@gmail.com
