MR Chris James Goggins, also known as ‘Goggs’, of Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, died at Royal Blackburn Hospital on Friday, March 13, aged 39.

He started work at Tenons at Bacup and Rochdale as a trainer auditor, then went to Savills in Manchester as a property accountant. before being promoted to associate team leader.

He then went to Roseland Property as a finance manager and was promoted to finance director.

He was a keen sportsman, loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking in the Lake District as well as ice climbing, canoeing and adventure sports.

Son of John and Sheila, he was brother of Tim, Tracey, Tina and John, and partner to Shelly, and

MR Alan Brown, of

Patrick Crescent, died at Blackburn Royal Hospital, on Thursday, March 19, aged 67.

A car mechanic, he loved his cars and a pint of Guinness and a roast dinner on a Sunday, and he loved to get the Free Press on a Thursday.

MR Stuart Brown, of Rawtenstal­l formerly of Bacup, died suddenly at home on Sunday, March 15, aged 60.

His service will take place at Burnley Crematoriu­m on Monday, March 30, at 11.30am, conducted by Rev Matt Hirst.

MR Alan Mather, of Kirkdale Avenue, Newchurch, Rossendale, died at his home, aged 95.

Much loved husband to Rita, he was father to Karl and Kirsten, grandfathe­r to Janine, Luke and Dane, great-grandfathe­r to Lewis, Eva, Max, Annie, Charlie, and Eleanor, uncle Alan to his nieces and nephews and friend to many. Originally from Burnley, he was the last surviving sibling of seven brothers and sisters.

After school Alan joined the Navy at 16 where he remained as a regular until after the war.
