worked for the last 27 years.

He was a faithful member of Kay Street Baptist Church and will be sadly missed by all who worshipped there.

He leaves his mother Brenda, brother Peter, sister Tracy, aunties, uncles, nephews and nieces.

ALAN MATHER

as painter and decorator, he started work at Holmes Shed Slipper Works in the 50s where he worked until his retirement.

His interests revolved around his family, wife, children, grandchild­ren, home and garden.

In later years he enjoyed sitting watching the world go by whilst enjoying the views from the garden of his home in Newchurch.

He was a devoted husband to his wife Rita, nursing her for many years until she went into care at Hill View Nursing Home, where, until his death, he spent most of his days sitting with her.

He will be sadly missed by wife Rita and all his family and friends.

MRS Thelma Rishton, of Westbourne, Helmshore, and formerly of Fern Terrace, Haslingden, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 90.

Devoted wife of the late James, she was a wonderful mother to Janet and Howard and motherin-law to Alan and Tanya, a proud grandma to Georgia and Jessica, a much loved Auntie T and treasured friend to many.

Because of the coronaviru­s her funeral will be limited to immediate family.

When circumstan­ces permit there will be a service to celebrate her life at Haslingden Methodist Church where she was a lifelong member and supporter, and will be sadly missed.

NINA ANDERSON

MRS Nina Pauline Anderson, of Haslingden Road, Rawtenstal­l, died on Thursday, March 19, at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 68.

She was a hairdresse­r and a cleaner at Marl Pits.

In her spare time she enjoyed caravannin­g, crosswords, reading and spending time with her grandchild­ren.

Nina had sons Carl and Simon, and daughter Katrina, grandchild­ren Lewis, Charlotte and Kes and the late Ryan, Lyndsay, Kirsty and Samantha, greatgrand­children Neam, Kayden, Leah, Harvey and Henry, and the late Harry.

The funeral will take place on Monday, March 30 at Burnley Crematoriu­m, conducted by Kathy Unsworth, at 1.40pm.

Donations are requested to Cancer Research UK.
