AUNIQUE vicarage has undergone a £100,000 transformation - and is on the market today.

The Gothic-style, sixbedroom ‘mansion’ in Haslingden features five floor levels and lush lawn gardens, and the interior is unrecognisable from its recent use as an office space.

Period features from the Grade II-listed house have been kept, from the external stonework, to window frames, skirting, doors and door casings, picture rails and arched doors and windows.

The house is in a unique location, on Manchester Road next to the Methodist Church.

Listed on Rightmove for £499,950, the listing describes the property as “suitable as a large executive family home, or as potentially prestigious busi

The current owner of the property is a kitchen installer and is responsible for its impressive renovation.

He said: “It just looks amazing - the high ceilings make it feel even bigger than it is, all the original features are still intact, it turned out even better than I was expecting.

“Someone will love living in this house.”

The project took around a year to complete, and had ‘no overall vision’, being designed as the owners went along.

Numerous people have already had tours since lockdown was lifted allowing for property viewings.

Entering through the stone porch and arched doorway, the ground floor offers a total of three impressive living rooms, kitchen diner, utility room, pantry and downstairs toilet.

The first floor actually comprises of two levels, and features three double bedrooms, including a triple fronted master bedroom suite, a large bathroom and additional, separate toilet.

The top floor meanwhile, offers three more large double bedrooms, plus two loft spaces that have the potential to be converted into extra bedrooms, plus an expansive landing area.

Finally the cellar offers two further rooms, with good ceiling and natural light into the large room.

The property has come a long way since it was built in the 1830s, acting as the vicarage for the church.

Before the owners moved in, it was used as an office for around 25 years, before it was restored to its former glory as a dwelling - though with a much more modern feel with the current renovations.
