GET IN TUNE WITH CHOIR

-

ROSSENDALE Memory Choir is delighted to invite Valley Dwellers and beyond to join in our Virtual Choir sessions with our leader Rose.

Rossendale Memory Choir provides a safe place where people living with dementia and their carers can create music together and socialise whilst at the same time having fun and being supported. We usually meet together on a weekly basis at Kay Street Baptist Church, but of course this cannot happen at the moment.

A regular, familiar creative activity helps build resistance to the stress of living with dementia and is an important element in prolonging home based care.

We feel that singing is something we can still do together virtually. This can help reduce fear, isolation and depression and so helps create a sense of wellbeing. Our Choir Leaders Rose and Lucy picked up the challenge and together have ensured that most of our members are able to continue to sing with us.

During this difficult period, one of the ways we are now using is our sessions on YouTube. As a thank you to our community who have been so supportive of our choir since external funding ended in 2016, the Friends of Rossendale Memory Choir have agreed that we can now share these lovely songs with the wider community of Rossendale, including residents at our care homes.

Simply visit www.songs. rossendalememorychoir. org to be taken to our Youtube choir sessions which you may enjoy singing along to. We hope you will all enjoy singing along.
