Police hunt driver who deliberately targeted pair on pavement
POLICE are searching for a motorist who seriously injured two people after deliberately driving a car at them.
The incident happened outside the Rose n Bowl pub on Newchurch Road, Stacksteads.
Police said there was an altercation outside the pub.
One of those involved in the incident then left the scene before returning in a vehicle where they mounted the kerb and hit two people.
One of the victims, a 23-year-old from Rossendale, suffered serious leg injuries.
The vehicle drove off from the scene.

The incident happened at 1.45am on Sunday, July 5 outside the Rose n Bowl pub in Newchurch Road, Stacksteads.
Police said there was an altercation outside the pub.
One of those involved in the incident then left the scene before returning in a vehicle where they mounted the kerb and hit two people.
One of the victims, a 23-year-old from Rossendale, suffered serious leg injuries.
The second person, an 18-year-old from Rawtenstall, suffered more minor injuries.
The vehicle drove off from the scene and Lancashire Police are now trying to find the person who was behind the wheel.
Detective Inspector Mel Kelly, of East CID, said: “This is a very serious incident where it would appear that a vehicle has been used as a weapon and driven deliberately at two people causing significant injury to one casualty.
“Our enquiries are ongoing in an effort to trace the vehicle involved and its occupants.
“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have
CCTV or dashcam footage, to get in touch.”
