Author’s write on approach to Brexit
AVALLEY author who says Britain “is the best country in the world” has penned a book celebrating Britain’s departure from the European Union.
Dr Anthony Nixon, of Flax Close, Helmshore, has written Freedom from EU: Sovereign Britain - Great Britain, Great Britain - Great Country, Proud to be British. Available in paperback or as an eBook, the book explores the British Empire, the origins of the English language and how it became a dominant global tongue.
On Amazon, the blurb states: “On the 31st of December 2020, the UK will finally be freed from the 50-year shackles of EU slavery and become a sovereign nation.

Brexit opponents and sceptics have raised fears over the economic impact of leaving the EU without a trade agreement - with the country’s economy already reeling from coronavirus lockdown.
UK and EU negotiators have warned there has been little progress during the latest round of postBrexit trade deal talks and time is running out to broker a deal before the end of the transition period on December 31, 2020.
But Dr Nixon, who has previously written books on Russia and the Baltics, and dementia and has a research-based doctorate in political economy, claims any economic shock will be “minimal”.
He said: “I am a patriot and proud to be British. Like 17.5 million voting for freedom from EU.
“I have written the book to prove that as a sovereign nation we shall be much better off and prosper. As a sovereign nation we shall trade on mutually beneficial trade terms at a global level and will see benefit immediately. Disruption if any will be minimal and for a very short period, for which we have done many trials just to ensure it is a smooth Brexit.”
