Police uncover £100,000 worth of stolen goods
MORE than £100,000worth of stolen goods were discovered by police in a raid after offices spotted a ‘mighty suspicious’ scene.
Police and colleagues from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) executed a warrant at a site on Shaw Clough Road, Waterfoot, on Tuesday, March 16.
Police ‘totted up’ the vehicles and parts found during the raid - totalling more than £100,000.
The warrant came after the local community raised concerns with police. Officers are now trying to track down those responsible and have appealed for those with information to come forward.
In a statement, Rossendale Police said: “Once on site, police quickly determined that a number of the vehicles and parts looked mighty suspicious and we had reason to believe they might need looked at.
“Our specialist stolen vehicle team were quickly on hand to confirm that they were indeed stolen.
“Over £100,000 worth of parts belonging to plant equipment and stolen vehicles was totted up by the team and enquiries are ongoing to find those responsible.
“The warrant was executed following our local community raising concerns, so we would like to thank them for their help.”
