QHave you any suggestions for something evergreen for my Zen garden? It’s in full sun, with rocky ground, and strong winds.

are a number of coastal-loving plants that would suit this situation, such as hebe, eleagnus, cistus and cordyline. They are happy in exposed areas and full sun and aren’t fussy about rich soil.
However, for a touch of Zen, how about a dwarf pine such as Pinus mugo pumilio, above? It will be happy in these conditions and hints at Oriental gardening styles.
