Old tablet strips just tonic for cancer funds

-

THIS week, we are looking at collaborative appeal involving Rossendale Radio and Superdrug who are collecting blister packs in support of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Every year millions of old empty tablet strips and blister packs are simply thrown away in the general waste, ending up in landfill sites that take many years to biodegrade.

Superdrug stores around the country are collecting these empty strips and blister packs and are sending them for recycling.

For every kilo of empty packs that are sent for recycling the Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity will receive £1. The Marie Curie Charity provides quality care for those with terminal illness, but to provide such an amazing service costs over £40m per year.

Rossendale Radio is delighted to announce that the 104.7 Rossendale Radio studios have become a collection point for these strips, and are looking for more collection points across the Valley.

So if you, your family, work colleagues or friends can collect all your old empty strips and donate them to Rossendale Radio, it will make a tremendous difference in supporting the amazing work of the Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity and protecting the environment by reducing the amount of landfill.

Would you or your company/premises/shop like to be an additional collection point?

If so, please get in touch. You can drop your bag/box of old strips off at the Rossendale Radio Studios at Suite 31, Hardmans Business Centre, New Hall Hey Road, Rawtenstall, BB4 6HH, or for further information you can email info@rossendaleradio.com or call 07963 322966 for someone to collect them from you (please ensure you have a full bag or box for collection).
