Ska’s the limit as festival makes comeback

-

SKA festival returns to St Mary’s Chambers for the Bank Holiday weekend, Sunday, August 29.

After the first sold out event in August 2019, the Rawtenstall venue are excited to bring back the festival in 2021 celebrating all things Ska and Reggae.

The line up includes Jeramiah Ferrari, who have toured relentlessly over the past decade since their inception and have gained an army of loyal followers with their infectious fusion of Ska, Reggae, Calypso, Rock and Pop. They have also chalked up some exciting support slots with household names such as The Wailers, Madness, UB40 and Steel pulse.

Accrington-based Ska/ Reggae band Inciders will also take to the stage, along with Blank Cheque.

Special Brew will headline the event. The seven-piece band who take their name from ska legend Bad Manners, include full brass section, which promoters promise will finish the night off in style.

Doors will open from 3pm. The bar will be open throughout the day and night and DJs will also play inbetween the live acts.

Venue director John Patrick said: “After the huge success of the first event in 2019 we were so disappointed that the event wasn’t able to take place last summer due to restrictions in place at the time.” He went on: “This event will feel like a huge celebration of the return of live music and what better genre to do so then Ska. It’s the embodiment of people from all walks of life getting together, to dance and sing and enjoy themselves and we are extremely excited for it to finally take place.”

Tickets are £15 plus booking fees and available from www.stmaryslive.com or call 01706 223 222 and are on sale now.
