New health juice packs punch

- FREE PRESS REPORTER

AFORMER professional boxer has created a natural solution to his aches and pains by developing his own turmeric and ginger juice.

Cornel Sampson, known as ‘Sammy’, is now looking to share his success with others by opening Revive Mind-Body in the former Mannings Butchers on Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, on September 1.

It will not only be a manufacturing base, but also a hub for holistic natural medicine, therapies and seminars.

The former light middleweight boxing champion sold merchant and energy services to the hospitality sector before the pandemic wiped out his business.

Sammy said: “I started struggling with pain in both knees and shoulders and was diagnosed with arthritis.

With options of steroid injections or long-term medication which were not guaranteed to work, he began researching a natural solution.

Sammy, who previously completed an exercise and sport science degree at John Moores University in Liverpool, said: “The consultant told me there was no alternative, so I used my education and researched natural remedies for pain and inflammation. Most results brought up turmeric and ginger. I tried different products, but found them to be ineffective.

“When I looked more closely, I discovered they had some additives and low concentration of active ingredients. Generally, just 35 per cent of a tablet is absorbed.”

Sammy tried making juice using turmeric and ginger powders but said they were messy, didn’t taste nice and further investigation found some of the powders contained heavy metals.

So, he went back to basics and bought fresh turmeric and ginger root.

He said: “It took about eight months of trial and error to get the preparation right and ensure more of the active ingredients of the turmeric and ginger were retained in the final juice.

“I use fruit zest and fruit juice for flavour and it is made from 100 per cent natural ingredients. After just two days of taking it, I noticed a difference.”

Sammy is now offering rewards-based crowdfunding to spread awareness, scale up production from his own kitchen to commercial premises, and help as many people as possible.

He said: “I want to grow a community, a tribe of people who want to revive their body’s natural ability to heal itself. We have forgotten our bodies can heal when we give them everything they need and take away what is harmful.

“Everyone who has tried the juice has said they have noticed a difference and they have recommended it to others.”

Revive’s ethos is to help relieve pain and inflammation naturally while having as little impact on the environment as possible.

The juice is supplied in a ‘bottle for life’ with recyclable pouches which can be returned by freepost.

“It is my vision to change a million lives, one juice at a time,” Sammy added.
