AGYM manager has signed up for this year’s London Marathon to raise money for a local hospice.

Valley- born- and- bred Jordan Hilton, who currently lives in Bacup, has signed up to run the London Marathon on October 3 in aid of Rossendale Hospice.

A few years ago, Jordan, 25, lost a close friend who received care at the Hospice and since then he has actively supported the charity to show his gratitude for the care they provided.

He has previously undertaken the Great North Run in 2019 and is currently hard in training for his first marathon.

Jordan, who will also be taking part in a half Ironman the week before the marathon, said: “I do like to challenge myself! It was too good an opportunity to miss. Especially this year as the date has changed from April to October so it allowed me to train throughout the summer.”

Jordan works as the gym manager at Lean Training Club in Dunnockshaw, whose staff and members have been supporting him with his training and fundraising.

His mum Hayley currently works for Rossendale Hospice’s ‘Hospice at Home’ team and she has also been fully supporting him by running raffles and spreading the word on social media. She will also travel to London with him for the race.

Joanna Williams, senior fundraiser at Rossendale Hospice, said: “We are so thrilled and grateful that Jordan will be taking on this huge challenge for us. We’ll be rooting for him every step of the way.”
