WHAT you’ve been saying on our Facebook page:

●TRIBUTES to former Bacup Cricket Club player George Westwell, (November 26):

Victoria Gamble: So sad to read this.

Lovely man. Rest in Peace George. Sending love to his family and lovely wife Jean x

Jaycie Kennett: He was a lovely man, RIP

●TAKEAWAYS to be limited in obesity crackdown (November 26):

Andy Coulton: Bit late after you have granted the planning for Haslingden’s curry mile. What are you going to do, shut them down?

Christopher Walton: Where’s our swimming pool gone Rossendale borough council ?

Gary Cunliffe: This the same council who have multiple times promised new sports facilities in Whitworth and then never delivered ? Also the same council who screwed up the trail head centre at Lee Quarry? You want to get people more active quickly, sort out the cycle route from Healey

through to Rawtenstall and make it 100% OFF ROAD and SAFE!

Myles Rowlinson: There are way too many takeaways in Rossendale. Why the council keep giving planning permission is totally beyond belief. I don’t see how so many takeaways can make a decent living. We must have as many takeaways as Bradford, maybe more.

Baronessa Whiteford: Ridiculous. Taking away people’s choices because of a few fatties. It’s their right to be unhealthy as it’s mine to buy food wherever I like.

Lisa Mack: Obese only need one takeaway so this is pointless

Ryan Noon: Thank God for that, I thought my “dad bod” was due to choosing to eat terrible food and drinking ridiculous amounts of ale in one sitting, both statements are true in fairness, but it turns out I’m actually a victim of Rossendale.

● COUNCIL report reveals bin collections missing target (November 26):

Ross Endale: Council use civic pride for street cleaning.

Matthew Jon: Not exactly council’s fault when a lot of houses seem to think the public footpath outside their house or around it is a tip. Then it has to be reported 100’s of times for council to remove it and no one is fined. Hence the cycle keeps repeating

Milorad Vasic: As a resident I have had no issues. It is hard given all the other issues. On street cleaning don’t drop your s*** on the road!

Gary Cunliffe: Shortage of drivers, hmm I wonder how they could solve this, maybe pay them a proper wage?
