MAVIS GRIMSHAW

-

MRS Mavis Grimshaw, 1940 to 2022, died suddenly at home in Rising Bridge on Saturday, March 26, aged 81.

Wonderful, wonderful mum, who always put her family before anything else.

Devoted nan and great-nanna Mavis. Family meant everything to her.

Mum was born in 1940 and grew up in Stacksteads, and went to Western School.

She met and married Granville in 1957 and was a truly wonderful wife.

They went on to have four children, Steven, Granville (Jim), John, and Susan. Mum worked hard all her life, and spent time working at Holland’s Pies, Q-mark, Automet, and finally the Farmers Glory. She made lots of friends, and was a popular worker.

Mum loved her home, and was very houseproud.

Mum leaves behind her children, brothers the late Frank and Jack, sisters Doreen, Rita, and the late Marlene, son-in-law

William, daughters-in-law Janet, Judith, and Lynda.

Sister-in-law to Richard, Margaret, George and his wife Marge, and the late Ernest and Elsie, she also leaves grandchildren Elliott, Tom, Laura, and their spouses Sarah, Louise, and Matt, great-grandchildren Ava, Isla, and George, and also many nieces and nephews.

Mum was a friend to many, a good neighbour, and a trusted colleague.

Mum will be greatly missed every day by her family every day of our lives. We love you Mum, good night and God bless.

Her funeral was due to be held at 1pm on Thursday, April 14 at Accrington Crematorium.
