ELECTIONS are about choices, and this one is no different. Next week, residents across our Valley have a clear choice between a tired Labour administration and fresh Conservative leadership, with a realistic plan to get Rossendale fit for the future.
We’re out on doorsteps across the Valley all year round and two things really stand out.
First is just how proud residents from Haslingden to Healey Corner are to call Rossendale home.
They know that Rossendale can be the best place to grow up and grow old – and they want to make it a reality.
The second is that they know they are being let down.
The current administration – run by Labour, propped up by independents and Greens – are too busy debating motions about Westminster politics, or wasting millions of your council tax on empty homes in other boroughs, while the things that really matter to us all fly-tipping, housing, parks and more are simply forgotten about.
Fortunately, Rossendale’s Conservatives – the only party standing in every ward at this election – have a plan to get Rossendale back on track.
By voting for your local Conservative candidate next Thursday, you’ll be voting for a two-year council tax freeze.
You’ll be voting to support local businesses and to level-up our transport infrastructure. You’ll be voting for a new food recycling scheme and for electric charging points across the Valley.
And, perhaps most importantly, you’ll be voting to protect and maintain Rossendale’s green spaces.
Our candidates have a wealth of realworld experience.
We have factory managers, heritage consultants, veterans and more standing for the Conservatives this year - as well as trusted faces seeking to win your vote once more.
What binds us all is that we are rooted in our communities and committed to making sure that the council’s priorities are your priorities.
That is the choice we face at this election. More of the same with Labour, independents and Greens - or a fresh start for Rossendale under the Conservatives.
If you want change, lend us your vote on May 5 – we will not let you down.
