This season will also see the build-up to the World Cup begin in earnest. Okay, it’s been bubbling away since the final whistle blew on RWC 2015, but now the next global showpiece is only a year away it will go up another gear.
Usually I’m not one for hype but I’ve got to be honest, I’m really looking forward to seeing how this season unfolds in relation to Japan 2019.
Which players are going to burst into contention for their national squads? Who is going to fall down the pecking order? What surprise results will there be in the Tests before Japan and Russia kick things off on 20 September 2019?
