SouthlandsLIVE brings the noise to idyllic site
Hayes FM presenter Hughie Dixon reviews the live band scene
THE mini-festival that is SouthlandsLIVE is upon us this weekend (Saturday July 16 from 1pm) set in the idyllic grounds of the quaint Edwardian arts centre in the corner of The Green off Swan Road, West Drayton.
Tickets can be purchased from the sandwich/coffee bar at 46 Station Road, West Drayton, for just £8 and there are special deals for families and kids.
If, however, you are just too late, then fear not. Here’s a heads up for you concerning a two-day music extravaganza that is taking place at the Battle of Britain Club, in Uxbridge Road, Hillingdon, the following weekend where all the proceeds go to the Macmillan Cancer Support team.
‘Spit and Fire Night’ on Friday July 22 is punk night featuring loud legends from near and far.
Holy Faction, Dog Rotten, Rage DC and No Lip intend to destroy the silence with an attitude and vibrancy that will de-wax your ear drums and fill you with a sense of defiance like ‘77 never ended.
‘Hurricane’ Saturday is a mixed bag of musical genres that includes Style Clash, Jude, John Donegan, Final Hour, Mister Susan, Brothers Raising Hell and Girl in the Garden.
It is just £3 entry for either night and all the dosh will be transferred to the Macmillan Cancer Support charity whose work is invaluable to say the very least. Hopefully the event organisers can raise a lot of adrenaline and money for a good cause.
