A LIST of the most expensive residential roads and neighbourhoods in Britain has been published and is once again dominated by Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster.

The findings by property website Zoopla lists Kensington Palace Gardens as the country’s most expensive road, where an average property would cost you a walletbusting £38,266,143.

If you were able to live there you could count among your neighbours Formula One heiress Tamara Ecclestone and Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittall.

In fact, the area is so exclusive, Zoopla told the Gazette that photography in the area is not permitted.

Meanwhile, the most expensive neighbourhood is SW7, which covers Knightsbridge, where the average property costs a much more reasonable £2,715,273.

The area is just ahead of Kensington W8 (average property £2,706,626) and Chelsea SW3 (average property £2,530,643).

As well as Kensington, the most expensive streets sees Top 10 entries from Chelsea (The Boltons, Manresa Road), Holland Park (Ilchester Place), South Kensington (Cottesmore Gardens), and some in nearby Westminster (Grosvenor Crescent and Chester Square).

Lawrence Hall, a spokesman for Zoopla, said: “While Kensington Palace Gardens continues to hold the top spot in the Rich List, it’s interesting to see some property values in the most expensive neighbourhoods decreasing over the past 12 months.

“While London will always attract buyers for trophy homes from across the globe, those looking for million pound-plus homes should also consider areas outside the capital that make the list such as Guildford, Sevenoaks or Esher, where they will get more bang for their buck.”
