PMJ’s ready to jazz up town’s literary festival
Hayes FM presenter Hughie Dixon reviews the live band scene
JAZZ fans are in for an afternoon treat as Hillingdon’s smoothsters Pimp My Jazz will be performing a fine mixture of originals, Latin jazz classics and the occasional medley of standards on Sunday October 9 from 1pm when they play at the Hillingdon Literary Festival at Brunel University on Kingston Lane, Uxbridge.
It is free entry all weekend, starting at 5pm on Friday October 7 until Sunday October 9 with guest speakers Will Self (Friday) and Ken Livingstone (Sunday).

Pimp My Jazz are a well accomplished band of musicians fronted by singer Lea Lyle (pictured).
Formed in June 2011, it is fair to say that guitarist Gavin Sparkes and lyricist/ manager Kay Shelley are th the driving force of this s seven piece outfit.
Lea’s vocals are b backed by John S Spraggon (lead guitar), G Gareth Chelley (s (saxophones), Phil Craddock (keyboards), Terry Peaker (bass) and K Kweku Graves (drums).
