Mums need love and pampering
AS I write, the leaves are tumbling orange from the trees, the pavements are glistening after a sudden downpour, front gardens are crowded with Michaelmas daisies and there is a definite chill in the air.
Autumn has arrived and it’s time to curl up in the biggest armchair you can find, make a nest in a pile of cushions and have a nice little nap.
Spare a thought for the animals in our care who are currently without a permanent home – or armchair – of their own.
Although we provide as many comforts as we can, a cattery or kennel environment simply cannot compare with a loving family home.
It’s a bit like you or I spending the winter in a budget hotel – our basic needs would be met, the room might be clean and comfortable, the staff doing everything they can to make you feel welcome, but it is just not the same as a home of one’s own.
In particular, we have a number of adult female cats who came to us pregnant at the start of the summer, who have given birth, reared their kittens and who are now alone again after the kittens have been weaned and adopted.
Now spayed, microchipped and vaccinated, these lovely lady cats are looking for their forever homes.
They’re all rescue cats so have been through tough times, and need understanding new owners who will give them time to settle in and get to know their new surroundings after months spent in the care of the RSPCA.
Champagne is one of our lovely mum cats who has reared her kittens and is now looking for her own forever home. She is a very cuddly lady who just loves attention from people.
She does also like her own space when she needs it and likes to sit and watch the world go by.
This lovely lady would make a great family companion, although she would prefer not to live with children under five years of age.
Champagne does not like to share her space with other cats, but could live with a cat-savvy dog.
Champagne would love to find her forever home as she has so much love and life to give – can you offer her the home she truly deserves?
Trixie was only eight months old herself when she was found with her five kittens, abandoned in a vacated property.
She has spent more than three months with us raising her offspring and now, having been neutered, is longing to start a new life in a loving home.
She is a confident young lady who is very affectionate, full of character and enjoys plenty of attention.
Trixie would prefer not to live with other cats but would probably be fine with a calm dog.
After all the care she has lavished on her kittens, Trixie deserves to be on the receiving end of lots of love and pampering now – can you help?
