Economical finishing as Smith hits seven
ADAM Smith went goal crazy as Sandgate under-13 Arrows started 2017 in style on Sunday.
Smith hit a magnificent seven in his side’s 12-0 win over Old Actonians, the other goals coming courtesy of braces for Jesse Nyarko and Daniel Okolo and a goal for Mikey Martins.
The U17s produced the comeback of the day, coming from 3-1 down at half-time to beat Walton Casual Sharks 4-3. Mohamed Abdi, Yusuf Aliabdi, Mohamad Mohamad and Liban Aden all got on the scoresheet.
The U10 Colts began the year in impressive style too, beating Hounslow Green 4-0 thanks to a double for Halil Plisi and one apiece for Nabil Mezali and Raian Hadji. Goalkeeper Milo Stoklosa was named player of the match.
The U11s and U9s were the other two Sandgate sides to start the year with three points. The former continued their unbeaten run with a 3-1 win at Carshalton Athletic. Sharpshooter Jake Pickett bagged a brace with Hadi Noor getting the third. The U9s edged AFC Walcountians 2-1 thanks to goals from Jasiah Mathurin and Cristiano De Sousa.
For entertainment, the U7s were the ones to watch as they shared 12 goals with hosts Hillingdon Abbots. Abbie McKenzie’s hat-trick played a big part in the 6-6 draw, while Luke Burns, Kane Oliver and player-ofthe-match Jack Keary were also on the mark.
The U14 Colts lost 4-3 against Cobham despite strikes from Tinnaye Chirambaguhwa, Ryan Roberts and Bailey McGrath, while the U12s were unlucky to be on the wrong end of a 3-1 defeat to Esher Wizards, Patrick Doherty their scorer.
A series of no-shows left the U13 Blades with just a basic 11 as they went down 3-0 away to Spelthorne.
The U8s were without a game, but received news they will play the rest of the season in the highest-standard division of the Harrow Youth League.
