A winter wonder

-

IT’S full steam ahead for Christmas now and the opening of Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland is just around the corner.

New attractions have been included this year, promising to make it the biggest and best year yet for the annual festive spectacular.

Joining the regular funfair rides and hot food stalls this year will be Peter Pan on Ice, a Teletubbies Christmas Show, ice sculpting workshops and Winter Wonderland’s very own comedy club.

The regular ice rink attraction will be even bigger this year while the popular Circus Megadome will also return.

The picturesque Bavarian village area is the perfect place to unwind in a festive atmosphere where the aromas of bratwurst and mulled wine are never far away.

You can also catch some live music, some of it traditional, in the Bavarian Hall where you can eat, drink and dance the night away.

If a white-knuckle ride is more your thing, you are also well catered for with nine rollercoasters in the Wonderland. This year visitors can buy a Coaster Pass, a pre-payment card for tap ‘n’ ride access to all the rollercoasters.

There are plenty of other smaller rides for those not brave enough to ride the coasters.

Winter Wonderland will be open on November 22 from 4pm to 10pm, then from November 23 to January 6 2019 it will be open 10am to 10pm every day except Christmas Day.

Winter Wonderland is free to enter although rides and other attractions are charged and can be pre-booked online, which is strongly recommended.
