AN EXTRAORDINARY TREAT FOR THE EYES AND EARS COMES TO CLAPHAM COMMON THIS MONTH

- By ELLIE MCKINNELL ellie.mckinnell@reachplc.com @ellie_grace_mck

IF you want to feel like you’re walking inside a rainbow you’re going to want to head to South London later this month.

Whether you’re a parent trying to get the kids out the house or an Instagram-obsessed millennial, this is the perfect popup to try out this September.

Colourscape, an enormous inflatable maze filled with psychedelic colours, will be in Clapham Common between September 14 and 22.

The aesthetic treat allows you to wander through almost 100 interlocking egg-shaped segments, some are tiny while others are almost like a cathedral.

It really has to be seen to be believed.

Get lost in a labyrinth of colour

To add to the sensory overload, there will also be musical performers marching through the winding tunnels and occasionally stopping in the central arena (if you ever get there).

If you want a quieter time go during the week.

The pop-up was a hit when it visited Wembley in May, so it will no doubt be popular again.

We’d advise getting there early in the day, towards the beginning of the pop-up (before anyone else hears about it)!

Location: Clapham Common, near the Long Pond boating lake and The Windmill pub

Opening hours: 1pm to 6pm on weekends. Noon to 1pm on weekdays, September 14 to 22

Prices: £11 for adults, £5 for children. (Or £5 and £2 respectively if you go during the weekday lunchtime slots – but there won’t be any music!)

Visit: www.eyemusic.org.uk/ whatsonevents/events/event8. html – tickets are available on the door only
